playstation-vue-screenshot-05_1920Today PlayStation Vue announced that football fans will soon have access to NFL Network and NFL RedZone on PlayStation Vue. With both channels launching in time for the NFL regular season this fall, fans can enjoy watching their favorite gridiron matchups using PlayStation Vue’s unique TV streaming features, including cloud DVR, powerful search and discovery tools, and simultaneous streaming, which allows users on the same account to watch the networks on multiple devices at the same time.

Cord Cutting NFL fans for the first time can catch NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football games, along with popular shows such as NFL GameDay Morning, A Football Life, Timeline, wall-to-wall news and fantasy coverage from around the NFL, and much more. With NFL RedZone, fans can watch the big moments from NFL games on Sunday afternoons, featuring cuts from stadium to stadium and delivering the most exciting plays as they happen.

“The NFL is constantly looking to serve our fans premium NFL content where and how they want to see it,” said Hans Schroeder, Senior Vice President, Media Strategy, Business Development, & Sales for the NFL. “We’re excited to offer NFL Network and NFL RedZone through PlayStation Vue, an innovative platform that will provide fans yet another option for keeping up with the Network’s 24/7 NFL coverage and catching RedZone’s action-packed Sunday afternoon experience.”

“Sports is among the most-watched content on PlayStation Vue, and we’re pleased to add two highly coveted sports networks, NFL Network and NFL RedZone, to the service for football fans to enjoy nationwide,” said Dwayne Benefield, vice president, head of PlayStation Vue. “We’re proud to be able to deliver a unique TV viewing experience through PlayStation Vue with our groundbreaking interface and cloud-based technology, and our agreement with NFL Media allows fans to experience the upcoming football season like never before.”

PlayStation Vue users who subscribe to NFL Network and NFL RedZone will also have access to the channels through Watch NFL Network, available on NFL.com; the NFL app across connected TV devices; and via NFL Mobile on Windows, iOS, and Android devices — at no extra cost. Yet it does sound from the wording of the press release that this will be a add-on or in one of the higher PlayStation Vue packages. Sony has not released any details of cost or packages at this time.

Sony today said “We can’t wait to launch NFL Network and NFL RedZone to give fans unprecedented year-round inside access to the entire NFL calendar.”
