Move over, The Handmaid’s Tale, there’s a new record holder in town. Hulu’s new limited series Nine Perfect Strangers starring Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy premiere last Wednesday was the most-watched premiere of any other Hulu Original series ever.

While Hulu hasn’t revealed exact numbers, Nine Perfect Strangers had the highest viewership of any other Original series on the service on premiere day as well as the first five days after. The record was previously held by the Season 4 finale of Hulu’s dystopian drama, The Handmaid’s Tale.

Based on The New York Times best-selling book by author Liane Moriarty, “Nine Perfect Strangers” takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this 10-day retreat is the resort’s director, Masha, a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine “perfect” strangers have no idea what is about to hit them

The eight-part series currently has 3 episodes available on Hulu with new episodes every Wednesday.
