BillsOver the weekend DIRECTV NOW sent out emails to some subscribers about an October price hike. This was quickly posted on Reddit and many people started to wonder if AT&T was about to once again raise the price of DIRECTV NOW.

The good news is Cord Cutters News has talked with AT&T and confirmed that there is no second DIRECTV NOW price hike happening in October. According to AT&T, what most likely happened was the customers getting the emails had a promotional prepaid deal coming to an end in October. (For example, they had prepaid for an Apple TV or the 3 months for $10 deal.)

AT&T was clear that there was no second $5 price hike in October as some had feared. So, if you got the email saying there was a $5 price hike coming in October you likely got it in error or it is when your prepaid deal is ending.

Now it is important to note that most of the DIRECTV NOW deals have ended or are ending. If you see a deal on the market right now for DIRECTV NOW I wouldn’t wait because it could end at any time.
