ViacomCBS is taking a cue from its competitors when it comes to releasing new content on its own streaming service, Paramount+. The Paramount film Infinite will skip theaters and go straight to Paramount+ in June, kicking off plans to build the movie library on the streaming service. Infinite was originally set to premiere in theaters this September.

CEO Bob Bakish said during the ViacomCBS Q1 earnings call Thursday that the company will be “ramping up” original movies next year and will “begin averaging an original movie a week in 2022.”

When asked for details, Bakish said the originals will be a mix of movies made for streaming, blockbusters, and movies from studios owned by ViacomCBS.

“In fact, we will shortly kick off a ‘Mountain of Movies’ marketing campaign, where we will highlight the thousands of new movies we are adding to Paramount+, including blockbuster hits and exclusive originals,” Bakish said during the call.

More content will be coming to Paramount+ soon, with a slate of new titles set to hit the service in June. The Avengers, Skyfall, and Rocketman were a few of the titles named specifically. During the call, Bakish also confirmed that A Quiet Place II will be available to stream 45 days after the theatrical release over Memorial Day weekend.

Paramount still has several films set to premiere in theaters including A Quiet Place Part II (May 28), Snake Eyes (July 23), Paw Patrol (August 20), Jackass (October 22), Clifford the Big Red Dog (November 5) and Top Gun: Maverick (November 19).
