Update: It’s official – Peacock will be available on Fire TV device on June 24

Fire TV users have been asking for the Peacock app to be available on their devices since NBCUniversal’s streaming service launched last year. A deal may have finally been made between Amazon and NBCUniversal to bring the app to Fire TV.

Fire TV shared a tweet on its official account Tuesday afternoon, showing a desk from the NBC show “The Office,” with one of the most well known pranks from the series. The caption says “Tomorrow’s announcement is NOT a prank”

Peacock is available on most major streaming platforms, with the exception of Fire TV. The streaming service was added to Roku in September 2020 after back and forth negotiations. Fire TV users have been stuck with sideloading the app or using a secondary device to access the app until now (we hope!)

Peacock has a free tier with limited content. Peacock Premium is available for $4.99 per month. Viewers may also upgrade Peacock Premium to an ad-free tier for an additional $5.00 per month.
