Philo Updates Their Roku Channel & Changes How New Programs Start

philo logoLast week Philo quietly updated their Roku app to change how starting a show works. In the past when you started a show it would start from the beginning of the show. Now Philo has changed that to launch into the program live as it happens.

You will still be able to jump back to an earlier spot in the show but by popular demand Philo has moved the start to the live spot.

What is Philo?

Philo is an affordable streaming service that keeps costs down by skipping local channels, including sports and news channels. For cord cutters who aren’t interested in those channels, it’s a great option on its own. Others find that combining Philo with another service that does offer local channels gives them their ideal setup.

With a subscription, you’ll get 58 channels of live TV and on-demand content.

How much does it cost?

A subscription for Philo costs $20 per month, after a free trial that you can get with just a mobile phone number (no credit card required.)

How can I watch?

Philo is available on the following devices:

  • Web browser (Apple and Windows)
  • iPhone and iPad
  • Android phones and tablets
  • Android TV
  • Roku
  • Apple TV
  • Amazon Fire TV

Philo says that support for additional devices will be coming soon.
