Cutting the cable connection to coax connector illustrating retired people cancelling cable TV serviceIf you’re looking for a deal in cord cutting, skinny bundles are a great option. In today’s post, we’re comparing two of these affordable streaming service options: Philo and Sling Blue.

Plans and Pricing

Last month, Philo announced that they would be eliminating their $16/month package and moving to a single package option on May 6. That single package costs $20/month. You can try Philo out with a 7 day free trial before subscribing.

Currently, Sling has a deal, offering 40% off on each of their packages for the first three months of a subscription. With that deal, you can get Sling Blue for just $15/month. When the deal expires, you’ll pay $25/month. Sling is also currently offering an extended free trial, giving new customers the chance to try out the streaming service for 14 days.

Channel and Price Comparison

With a Philo subscription, you’ll get 58 channels for $20/month, bringing the cost per channel to 34 cents.

With Sling Blue, you’ll get 49 channels for $15/month for 3 months, coming in at about 31 cents per channel. After the promotional deal, you’ll pay $25/month, bringing that cost up to 51 cents per channel.
