If you are a news fan in the New England area we have some bad news for you. NECN the New England Cable News channel is being dropped from the PlayStation Vue Access plan.
Here is the email Sony sent the effected PlayStation Vue subscribers:
Hello,
We hope you’re enjoying your subscription to PlayStation(TM)Vue. As of Wednesday 2/8/2017, the New England Cable News (NECN) channel will no longer be available in Access plans. NECN will continue to be available in the Core, Elite and Ultra plans.

The access plan is the $29.99 plan Sony promotes as having 45+ popular cable channels. You will now need to upgrade to at least the Core Slim plan that starts at $34.99. That is unless you live in a market where they charge a extra $10 a month for local channels raising this price to $44.99.

NECN first launched on March 2nd 1992 and is a NBC Owned Television Station under the Comcast Corporation. They offer a 24/7 regional news coverage servicing the New England area. Their air in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire. They are headquartered in Newton, Massachusetts.
