Cheerful couple cuddling and sitting on the couch watching tv at home in the living roomYesterday Sony announced that they are raising the price of PlayStation Vue packages by $5 a month. The price change will start July 24th, 2018 for new subscribers and current subscribers will see the jump on their next bill after July 31st, 2018.

Now Sony has started to contact current subscribers to let them know that they will be getting a one time $5 credit.

Update: A few readers have contacted Cord Cutters News to say they received a free upgrade to Elite instead of a $5 credit.

“However, as a valued and long-standing customer, please enjoy a one-time $5 credit on us, which will be automatically applied to your PSN wallet on July 31, 2018.** You can apply this wallet credit to a product, service, or subscription in PlayStation™Store, or it can be used towards your PlayStation™Vue subscription cost.” Sony said in an email to their subscribers.

  • This $5 per month pricing increase applies to all PlayStation™Vue multi-channel plans for new subscriptions, plan upgrades, and plan downgrades as of July 24, 2018.
  • If you upgrade or downgrade prior to July 24, the new plan price will take effect on your next subscription renewal date after July 31, 2018.
  • Pricing updates will be reflected in your subscription renewal information at psvue.com/subscription (and in Manage Subscription in the PS Vue app on PlayStation®consoles) starting August 1, 2018.

“We vow to continue providing exceptional service to our customers, with plans to add more broadcast stations and content that resonates with fans, as well as ongoing feature enhancements. PS Vue was recently listed as the top pay-TV streaming service by the American Customer Satisfaction Index, and our goal will be to maintain this positioning as we continue to enhance the service. As a reminder, if you do not wish to continue your subscription, you can cancel at any time, either on PlayStation consoles or online at psvue.com/subscription.” Sony went on to say.
