PlayStation Vue is Making a Change to BTN Resulting in All BTN DVR Recordings Being Removed

Today Sony announced that because of a “signal change” all existing BTN and BTN Alternate recorded programming being removed. Sadly if you had a DVRed a show on BTN before August 21st all recordings are now lost. The good news is you will be able to record BTN programming going forward.

Here is the notice PlayStation Vue posted on their website today:

BTN and BTN Alternate – Signal Change

  • Existing DVR content on these stations (before 8/21) will no longer be available

Here are all the recent changes made to PlayStation Vue this month:

August 2019

  • Launched NHL Network
    • Added to Core Plan and above
  • Launched ACC Network
    • Added to Core Plan and above
  • Launched WAHU FOX 27 (Charlottesville) and West Dakota FOX (Minot-Bismarck)
    • Added to Access Plan and above
    • Replacing FoxNet
    • DVR functionality, including all stored Fox content before 8/21, will no longer be available
  • BTN and BTN Alternate – Signal Change
    • Existing DVR content on these stations (before 8/21) will no longer be available
  • FX+ will no longer be available as a standalone channel as the service provider has elected to discontinue the channel on a standalone basis.

September 2019

  • On 9/18/2019, Destination America and Science Channel will be moving from Access Plan to Elite Plan
    • Access and Core subscribers will lose Destination America and Science Channel. All of their associated On Demand and DVR content will no longer be viewable. If you wish to continue watching Destination America and Science Channel subscribers will need to upgrade to Elite Plan or above.
  • MotorTrend will become available in the Access Plan and may be enjoyed by all plan subscribers..
