Recently PlayStation Vue updated its mobile apps for Android phones and tablets and added the ability to Limit Data Usage. (Or at least we just noticed it and didn’t find anyone talking about it when we Googled it.)

You now have the ability to select between Low Quality that uses 1 GB of data every 2 hours, Medium Quality that uses 1 GB of data every hour, and High Quality that uses 1 GB of data every 30 minutes.

You can find this setting inside your Settings on mobile devices. (Or at least on Android.)

This is great news for mobile device users who have a data cap. Hopefully PlayStation Vue brings it to other devices such as the Roku and Fire TV.

Sony is not the only service to offer this feature. If you are a Sling TV subscriber you can control the quality (and the data usage) on all apps for all devices inside your Settings.

Hopefully other streaming services add this feature allowing subscribers to have greater control over their data usage.
