PlayStation Vue Now Supports Apple’s Single Sign

The recent Apple tvOS beta update added has added PlayStation Vue as a TV provider allowing you to sign in on your iPhone or iPad and now Apple TV that is running the most recent beta.

Update: I am starting to hear that all Apple TVs now support PlayStation Vue single sign in.

Apple TV’s single sign on is one of the features that help the Apple TV sign out. This feature allows Apple TV owners with services like PlayStation Vue to auto log into all the apps that support PlayStation Vue. No longer will you need to log in to each individual app. This can save a lot of time when you are rushing to get in to WatchESPN to catch the end of the game.

Sling TV has been on this list for some time on both iOS and the tvOS devices. Now it seems at least on iOS 11 Beta PlayStation Vue is now supported. Sadly though it is only showing up on the newest version of the iOS 11 beta. At the time I write this there is no Apple TV support for DIRECTV NOW and while DIRECTV shows up on the list of supported providers on the Apple support website DIRECTV NOW is still not shown.

Have you tested this out in a non-beta version of the Apple TV OS? Leave us a comment and let us know if it is working for you.

Playstation VUE sso is fully supported on all Apple devices, including iPads, iPhones and Apple TV.

DirecTV Now is listed in iOS 11 beta but not actually supported. If you set it as your default, you still have to login to each individual apps. Sling is kinda useless because it only supports very few apps.

I’m using the current stable version of tvOS (not the beta) and noticed this last week. I was checking out the Fox Sports NOW app and it supported PS Vue as a cable provider. After that I got a message that I could sign in automatically with all supported apps. This is the message:

“As a subscriber to PlayStation Vue, here are some great TV apps you may have access to as part of your subscription. Available on iOS 10 and later, and tvOS 10 and later.”

You are also provided a list of apps that support it. It’s awesome!
