Today, we’re excited to share that we have a new contributor joining the Cord Cutters News team. DeVonne has a background in journalism, experience with all types of writing, and an interest in the future of cord cutting. Look for a few posts from DeVonne each week as we add some new voices to the site, to bring you the best possible cord cutting coverage.
Here’s a quick intro from DeVonne.
Hey, everyone – DeVonne, here! Like many of you, I enjoy having options and I enjoy saving money. When I do spend, I want to spend wisely. Even though I haven’t quite mastered that last part yet, I love that there are so many options out there for a streaming content junkie like myself; and so much more on the horizon.
Luckily for us, we have yet to hit the prime of a streaming industry already ripe with something for everybody. All we need are people to help us navigate these waters without getting overwhelmed. That’s why I’m excited to be a small part of the Cord Cutters News team.
Connecting communities through content has been a passion of mine since before I really understood what content was. And no matter what shape it takes, I believe the glue that binds it all together is stories.
I have a background in journalism but have experience in everything from blogs to finance articles, stage play writing, screenwriting and (the ever-elusive) novels. I’m also a big movie buff. And while I do stream hours of music to pass the hours in a day – I do still own a fair share of cds.
I use each of these avenues to absorb stories. For me, sharing stories is just as fulfilling as absorbing them. I can’t let a day go by without doing at least one of those.
I live in the south Charlotte area with my wife and two sons. Amid the laughs, messy rooms and building forts with bedsheets, we enjoy discovering content together as a family. It helps us to escape down rabbit holes, creatively solve problems and even reconnect with old classics. Who knows – maybe one day we’ll find a way to share our own stories.
In the meantime, I can’t wait to help the Cord Cutters News community continue to unearth content gems and navigate this rapidly growing world.
