Plex Adds More TV Shows to Its Soon to Launch Free Streaming Service

Recently we learned that Plex, Warner Bros. and Lionsgate have teamed up for its new ad-supported free streaming service. Now Plex has announced that they’ve partnered with  Legendary Television Distribution, LLC to bring some of its content to Plex’s new free streaming service. Legendary Television Distribution is the company behind titles like Colony, The Looming Tower, Downward Dog, and more.

“Our partnership with Legendary enables us to expand our offering with both digital features and TV titles, and further diversifies our catalogue of AVOD content when we launch,” said Keith Valory, CEO of Plex. “We are working to create a unified, beautiful app where all types of content are available in one place. We are partnering with many well-known studios to bring consumers the best possible entertainment experience, consistently across all screens, big and small.”

According to Plex, it plans to launch its new, free, ad-supported streaming service later this year. Plex says they are currently engaged with other partners to secure additional content agreements ahead of the launch of the new streaming service.

This new, free, ad-supported movie service is one more great option for cord cutters to find free movies on a service they may already be using. This content from Lionsgate, Warner Bros. and Legacy Television content will be added to Plex later this year, but no exact date has been announced.
