Plex continues rolling out its live TV DVR for over-the-air TV to new devices. You can now access all of your Plex Live TV DVR recordings on your Roku player with today’s update to Plex’s Roku Channel.
Update: You can watch your DVR recordings at this time on Roku but can not set up new recordings on Roku at this time. You can also watch live TV on your Roku Player though Plex Live TV.
“We’ve devoted countless hours to enhancing Plex in order to connect people to the media that they love, including your regularly scheduled programming. If you’re a Plex Pass subscriber streaming Live TV on any number of devices supporting it, you know how awesome it is for cutting the cord. There’s no better way to enjoy your favorite shows than on our most popular platform, Roku — now with Live TV support! A beta release is out with plans to release to all Plex Pass subscribers in about a week. Plex Pass subscribers with the Roku preview channel installed can now use Roku to watch free HDTV digital broadcast channels, including local news, and sports.” Plex said in a blog post on their site.
Today Roku joins a growing list of devices that support Plex DVR including iOS, Web, Android (mobile), Android TV, and Apple TV.
To access your DVR on Roku you will need to Add the Plex Preview Roku Channel before you will find the new DVR recordings on your Roku.
