Do you have a Roku Player or Roku TV and own a Nintendo Switch? You may have noticed your Roku TV and Roku Player is randomly crashing and rebooting while you try to play the Pokémon Sword and Shield game. The strange thing is you don’t even need your Nintendo Switch to be connected to your Roku TV, this seems to happen when the Switch and Roku are simply on the same WIFI network. If you have had this happen you are not alone, and Roku has rolled out an update to fix this issue affecting some Roku owners according to a report from The Verge.

“We are aware of an issue when using Nintendo Switch and the latest Pokémon game impacting a limited number of Roku devices,” a Roku said in a statement. “We are rolling out a software update to resolve it and impacted users can check for the update by going into Settings > System > Software Update.”

Issues like this are not unusual and can happen from time to time. According to reports, the issue is caused by both Roku and Pokémon using the same port on your WIFI router. Roku seems to have been mistaking information meant for the game as information for your Roku. The good news is Roku seems to have quickly identified the problem and is rolling out a fix. If you are struggling with this issue, make sure you run a system update in your system settings.
