Many Internet providers have data limits. I find myself turning off the TV screen, but the datastream is still running. What is the easiest way to make sure everything gets shut down?

We stream on a Roku and have everything plugged into a power strip. When done for the day we hit the button on the power strip and everything is powered off including streaming. Some ask why or is this overkill? With a killawatt we found all our devices, tv, Roku, fire stick, soundbar, etc.. consume 130 watts. Once the power is off they all consume zero including the data stream.
