Quibi launched yesterday, April 6, after months of build up and previews of upcoming shows and movies. Quibi is a mobile-only streaming service with content shown in “quick bites” of ten minutes or less. The service is available on iOS and Android devices, with a slate of original content, including celebrity-led unscripted shows, movies shown in chapters, and daily essentials.

Sensor Tower is now reporting that the Quibi app was downloaded by over 300,000 mobile users on the first day in the US and Canada. The chart from Sensor Tower shows how that number compares to the 4 million installs from Disney+ in the US and Canada on day one, along with the day one install numbers for HBO Now when the service launched in 2015.

Quibi is offering a 90 day free trial for those who sign up on its website, which will account for many of the day one downloads. After that 90 day period, we’ll see a more accurate number for Quibi subscriptions.
