While this site does a great job covering cord-cutting devices with streaming only devices such as Roku, Amazon, and Apple, and some streaming-dvr type devices such as Tablo and Channel Master and now G-Box, something overlooked on this site is TiVo which is a strong and well developed streaming-dvr. TiVo scores strong in independent reviews of streaming-dvrs by the likes of CNET, engadget, and digitaltrends. Check TiVo out for yourself, and the reviews…. enjoy.

Nice article! Good job on the mention of the “look and feel a lot like your old cable DVR” This was a big deal for our family (read “family” as very “low-tech” users) to pull off cord-cutting. And part of that “look and feel” is another pro worth mentioning, that there are streaming capabilities through integrated apps that let you do searches in TiVo and then click through to the show or movie straight into the streaming service like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and VUDU. And there are other streaming services for: Spotify, IHeart, Pandora, & Plex. Again, all available in a very “family” friendly way.
