Like most consumers, you probably weren’t aware that the ability to access Prime Video and IMDb TV from your Roku device was in jeopardy. But the good news is, the two companies have reached an agreement, so you can keep on streaming as usual, uninterrupted.
Roku released a statement on the agreement with Amazon on its official blog:
“Roku and Amazon have reached a multi-year extension for their distribution agreement. Customers can continue to access the Prime Video and IMDb TV apps on their Roku devices.”
This extension comes without much fanfare, unlike other dramatic deals Roku has negotiated with HBO Max, Peacock, and YouTube, to keep those platforms on Roku devices. Those back and forth negotiations resulted in delayed rollouts and the temporary disappearance of apps from Roku while things got sorted out.
