roku ultraRoku has confirmed to Cord Cutters News that they are refunding anyone who paid for the Twitched Roku Channel.

In November 2017, Amazon removed their official Twitch streaming Roku Channel from Roku players. Any Roku owner who already had the Twitch Channel installed on their Roku got a warning message saying the app would no longer be updated but that they could still use it. Sadly, new Roku owners would be unable to add the official Amazon Twitch Channel.

Very quickly a paid version that cost $0.99 popped up with a slightly different name, “Twitched.” This week the creator of the Twitched Roku Channel shut down the service. This has shut down the last option to watch Twitch streams on Roku unless you are grandfathered into the old Twitch app.

To get a refund for the $0.99, you need to contact Roku support and ask for the refund. It will also likely take several days for the money to appear in your account. According to Roku support, the creator of the Twitched Roku Channel removed the channel, not Roku.

You can contact Roku support to ask for your refund HERE.
