Samsung is expanding its Smart Monitor line to include both larger and smaller screen size options. The product line, which aims to merge smart TV capabilities with computer monitor features, debuted late last year with screens ranging from 27 to 32 inches. These newest additions include a 43-incher as well as a smaller 24-inch display. As with the first wave of models, these latest Smart Monitor models feature onboard speakers and streaming app support alongside the typical computer monitor feature set.
The company bills these as “do-it-all” displays that could come in especially handy for those working from home and needing some flexibility in their monitors. These latest screen sizes join the 27-inch (1080p) and 32-inch (1080p and 4K) models that were first launched back in November.
“Whether in a living room, dorm room or office space, consumers want to seamlessly go between work, learning and entertainment,” Mark Quiroz, vice president of marketing for Samsung Electronics America, said in a press release. “The Samsung Smart Monitor lineup offers consumers something unique by combining a smart monitor with a streaming TV, and the expansion offers a larger variety in size and color to fit in anyone’s space.”
The larger 43-inch display is part of the higher-end M7 tier and boasts support for 4K resolution and high-dynamic range video in the form of HDR10. The 24-incher joins the lower-spec M5 lineup with support for 1080p as well as HDR10. Meanwhile, the earlier 27- and 32-inchers get some update love as well, thanks to new a new white paint option in addition to the previous standard black exterior.
Samsung’s press release didn’t include pricing info on these new models, but the earlier screen sizes started at $229.99 for the 27-inch 1080p model and maxed out at $399.99 for the 32-inch 4K display. So odds are good the 24-inch and 43-inch monitors will slot in below and above those respective price points.
