Season 2 of the CW’s popular DC comic series Batwoman is now available to stream exclusively on HBO Max. The series landed on the streaming service July 27, two months after the season finale aired.

Season 2 premiered with a brand new Batwoman, Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie), taking on the role as the new Gotham City defender, with plenty of twists and turns in the storyline. The season has an 89% positive critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and a loyal fanbase ready to cheer on the vigilante.

A third season has been confirmed with a premiere date of October 13 on The CW. However, the series is no stranger to an evolving cast as evidenced by the exit of Ruby Rose as Kate Kane. It’s been revealed that Dougray Scott, who plays Jacob Kane, will not be returning for season three.

“Having Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane on Batwoman was incredibly special for all of us,” said showrunner Caroline Dries in a statement. “An actor with his pedigree and reputation elevates any project, and he had great chemistry with his castmates. We loved telling Commander Kane’s story for the last two seasons, and we will always leave the door open to have him return. We wish him the very best!”
