Late last week Sling TV quietly added six new channels to a variety of packages.
The following channels were added:
- DocuBox HD
- FightBox HD
- FashionBox HD
- Fast&FunBox HD
- 360TuneBox
- NatureVision TV
It appears that Sling TV has added FashionBox, DocuBox, 360TuneBox, and NatureVision TV to its Englishi Bonus Pack (for international customers); FightBox and Fast&FunBox are now part of its World Sports package; and DocuBox and FightBox (with Polish audio) are part of Sling TV’s Polish Mosaic pack.
Although these may not be the most well-known channels in the United States these channels seem to be more focused on its international customers. Part of this may have to do with the fact that Comcast will soon add Sling TV to its X1 platform on its cable boxes.
It may seem strange for Comcast to put Sling TV on cable boxes; however, it opens up Comcast customers to international packages that Comcast does not currently offer. So it appears that Sling TV is beefing up its international lineup in an effort to attract more Comcast subscribers.
“SPI/FILMBOX Channels Group is excited to expand its channel portfolio on Sling TV” Stacey Sobel, executive VP of SPI International, said in a statement. “We are looking forward to adding new channels in the future in order to serve both English-language and ethnic audiences.”
