Sling TV Channels

The Sling channel lineup gives you access to live TV programming from a wide range of categories, including entertainment, kids, lifestyle, news, and sports. Some channels even provide on-demand content to watch at your leisure.

Sling offers two main plans — Sling Orange and Sling Blue — with each package having a different channel lineup. Although they cost the same at $30/mo., Sling Orange comes with 30+ channels while Sling Blue has 50+.

Despite having a smaller channel lineup, Sling Orange gives you access to Disney and ESPN, which are unavailable with a Sling Blue subscription. Meanwhile, Sling Blue offers a few channels not available on Sling Orange, such as Bravo, FX, and NBCSN. Sling TV local channels

Local channel availability is where Sling TV falls behind the competition as it only has FOX and NBC, and that too in select cities. So if you live in New York, you can use your Sling subscription to watch the local FOX WNYW channel and WNBC. And if you live in Los Angeles, you can get the local FOX KTTV channel and KNBC.

Meanwhile, it’s missing local channels from major networks such as ABC, CBS, and PBS. And note that you won’t get local channels with a Sling Orange subscription. You need either a Sling Blue or Sling Orange + Blue plan to access them.

Sling TV sports channels

Sling has a decent selection of sports channels in its lineup, though not particularly impressive. The base plans — Sling Orange and Sling Blue — each come with a different set of sports channels in its lineup.

The Sling Orange plan will give you major sports channels such as ESPN, ESPN 2, and ESPN 3. So you can use these to watch major events from across various sports categories, including baseball, basketball, football, golf, and tennis. And you also get Stadium, which mainly focuses on live broadcasts of college sporting events.

The sports channel lineup on Sling Blue is slightly more expansive. And although it doesn’t come with ESPN, it offers the NBC Regional Sports Networks in select markets. But keep in mind that Sling doesn’t offer any other regional sports channels besides these. Other than this, you can use this plan to watch football on NFL Network and other major sports programming on FOX Sports 1, NBC Sports Network, and Stadium.

If you like the regional sports programming on NBC and the football broadcasts on NFL Network, but you don’t want to miss out on ESPN, you could also opt for the Sling Orange + Blue plan instead. This package combines all of the Sling channels from both packages, so you don’t miss out on anything.

Sling TV add-ons

While the Sling channel lineup may not be as comprehensive as you might like, the service offers plenty of add-on packages to build a more robust plan. The add-on options range from channel packages to a-la-carte premium networks. These channel packages will give you a different lineup depending on whether you get the Sling Blue plan or the Sling Orange option.

For entertainment channels

The service is on par with leading competitors as it offers an entertainment channel lineup that’s more or less similar. The service has an excellent selection of leading entertainment channels, including, A&E, AMC, BBC America, Comedy Central, and FX. It even comes with channels not available on other services. For instance, Hulu + Live TV doesn’t have AMC and Comedy Central. And Philo doesn’t come with FX.

Sling falls slightly behind the competition since it doesn’t have a lot of regional sports networks. It offers leading sports channels such as ESPN, FOX Sports, NBC Sports Network, and NFL Network. Although Philo costs less at $20/mo., it doesn’t have any sports offering. So Sling offers better value as it has a more comprehensive channel lineup for about the same price.
