According to Sling, subscribers are viewing 121% more news from Sling TV’s top news channels than last month. To help keep Americans informed, Sling is providing free access to news through the Stay in and Sling initiative. Now, Amazon Fire TV users will be able to quickly and easily  jump into live news and entertainment available on the Sling TV free experience, with a new integration into Fire TV’s live TV discovery features.

From the Amazon Fire TV home screen, simply scroll right to the “Live” tab, which now includes rows of channels and free live content from SLING TV.

Live Tab Integration
Starting today and rolling out to all Amazon Fire TV devices this week, Slingers can skip the scrolling and see favorite channels and most recently watched SLING TV programming in one central location on the Fire TV Live tab, including:

  • Breaking News — Watch the latest news coverage from popular channels such as FOX News, ABC News Live, Cheddar News and more for free, or subscribe to SLING Blue for news from CNN, MSNBC and more.
  • Recent Channels — Select a recently watched channel to launch directly into live content in the SLING TV app.
  • SLING TV — Customers can discover a dedicated row of the most popular live content from the SLING TV free experience or their current SLING TV subscription.

You don’t need a Sling TV subscription to stay informed with free, 24/7 news coverage. Right now, anyone can access ABC News Live, FOX News, select local FOX affiliates, and Cheddar News.

Current and former SLING TV subscribers can immediately access the complimentary content available in the SLING TV free experience directly from the Fire TV Live tab. Customers who have not previously used SLING TV will need to download the SLING TV app and click the “Explore Free Content” option upon opening the app to see free SLING TV content in the Live tab. After a few minutes, the Fire TV “Live” tab will refresh to show free content.

Integrated Channel Guide

For customers who prefer to browse channels in a more traditional format, Sling TV’s live content is also integrated into the Fire TV channel guide. Amazon Fire TV users can access this feature by selecting the “Channel Guide” button on the “Options” ribbon at the bottom of the page.

No matter your news and entertainment preference, one thing is certain — it has never been easier for Slingers to find it all in one place on Fire TV. Plus, Sling TV is offering a free Amazon Fire TV Stick to new customers who subscribe and prepay for two months of SLING TV service.
