Yesterday we learned that Sling TV was working on an AirTV 2. Now, the team over at Satelliteguys.us images of an AirTV Mini. This new AirTV Mini is an Android TV powered stick/dongle that looks to be a cheaper version of the Air TV.
According to training slides about the AirTV Mini the streaming stick will boot directly into Sling TV with a similar user interface of the current AirTV Player. It will come with Google Assistant, YouTube, and Netflix integrated directly into Sling TV like with the current AirTV. It will even support 4K streaming on YouTube.
According to the Satelliteguys who used the new AirTV Mini and posted about their training it look like this is an improvement over the old AirTV. “In the brief time I had to play with it it did seem faster then the older AIRTV player and it was also running a newer version of Android TV. I was told that the older AIRTV player will get an OS update in the next month or so. ”
According to the training slides posted about the new AirTV Mini, the device will hit stores in June 2019.
