Today Sling TV started to roll out new Apple TV app with an updated grid guide that looks a lot more like a traditional cable TV guide. You will also find a new player that will allow you to better find out what you’re watching, including show name, description, closed caption options, player controls are more.
Here is a hands-on look at the new Sling TV app:
“Starting today, Apple TV users will get to enjoy new features that simplify how you stream on Sling TV. The updated features provide a more content-centric experience, allowing you to manage your favorites and see more information about shows before you click to watch.” Sling TV’s Jimshade Chaudhari said in a statement on their website.
Updated features include:
- Updated Guide – The grid guide will now show a photo preview and information about a show before you click to watch and filters have moved to the left hand side of the screen.
- Ribbon Management – Now instead of scrolling through content to get to the “Manage” buttons for Favorite Channels, Recordings and Continue Watching, you can select the icon at the beginning of these rows for easy access.
- Remote Capabilities – Tapping the remote touch pad on Apple TV will now allow you to view more information and will bring up player controls for the show.
Sling TV says these new features will be rolling out to more devices in the future.
