Sling TV is known for its highly customizable packages. As a streaming service, Sling TV gives you an authentic cable TV experience without the headaches of a contract. Unlike services such as Netflix, with Sling TV you can watch many of your favorite networks, including A&E, CNN, Discovery Channel, History Channel, Comedy Central, FS1, MSNBC, Nick Jr., NFL Network, Vice, and more depending on your package. Not only can you choose from three separate plans — Orange ($30/mo.), Blue ($30/mo.), and Orange + Blue ($45/mo.) — but you can also upgrade your experience further with additional Cloud DVR storage and premium channels. Sling TV’s ease of use also extends to the number of devices compatible with the service.

How do Sling TV’s supported devices compare to other services?

To help you make the right decision, we evaluated the device compatibility of Sling TV and a few other popular streaming services like Disney+, fuboTV, and Hulu. When it comes down to it, all of the services on this list support most major devices, like Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, Chromecast, and web browsers.  Most also work with Roku devices and select smart TVs. Just keep in mind, some services may only work with newer devices.

Services tend to part ways when it comes to game consoles and other niche devices — like the Oculus Go. Another detail to keep in mind is the generation of the gaming console you’re using. Some services may not work with older Xbox 360s, but many are compatible with the newer Xbox One. Recent Xbox One S and Xbox One X models both support Sling TV. And while you can’t stream fuboTV, Hulu, or Sling TV on PS4, you can download apps to stream CBS All Access, Disney+, and ESPN+. A few services detailed in the above chart don’t work with some popular smart TVs. For instance, neither CBS All Access nor ESPN+ provides access to VIZIO Smart TVs without a lengthy workaround.

The final cut

Sling TV is supported by most major devices, including Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, casting devices, smart TVs, and more. Just remember that the service isn’t compatible with PlayStation 4 and Nintendo gaming consoles.

Sling TV doesn’t regularly offer a free trial like many of the other streaming services out there, though there is sometimes a 7-day trial via the app. But it frequently extends a $10 discount new subscribers can apply to any of the service’s three plans. You can also switch between the Orange and Blue plans as you please — just navigate to Settings and click on Account. From there, you can make adjustments to your plan. And because you never have to sign a contract with Sling TV, you can cancel your subscription at any time.
