The Apple TV app is now coming to Sony TVs. The software is rolling out on Sony’s lineup of Android Smart TVs starting with the X900H, with plans to add it to more models before the end of this year, including select 2018 through 2020 TVs.
Now users will be able to access Apple TV+ from their Sony Smart TV and watch all of the Apple originals including movies, shows, and documentaries like The Morning Show, See, The Banker, Greyhound, and more. With the Apple TV App, users can also add on streaming channels like Starz and SHOWTIME and watch ad-free and on-demand.
In addition to Apple’s streaming service and VOD channels, Sony TV users now also have access to buy or rent over 100,000 movies and TV shows, including titles available in 4K HDR and with Dolby Atmos.
“We take great pride in the superb picture and sound quality of our innovative TVs,” noted Mike Fasulo, president and chief operating officer, Sony Electronics North America. “Now with the Apple TV app, we are making great entertainment even more enjoyable, and easier for customers to access.”
Sony joins the lineup of devices where the Apple TV app is compatible. Most recently, the Apple TV app launched on Vizio SmartCast TVs, giving viewers access to Apple TV+ and Apple TV channels. New rumors suggest it could be headed to Xbox and PlayStation consoles as well.
