How many TVs do you have in your house? If you are like most of our readers, it is probably more than one. Get ready to pay up if you are a Spectrum customer.
Spectrum and other cable TV providers are slowly rolling out their digital cable TV to new markets. That means no longer will you be able to plug in a TV to the wall and watch cable TV. You will now need a converter box for every TV to be able to watch TV.
Now if you still have a legacy Time Warner Cable package that means you will be paying an extra $11.75 every month for every additional TV on top of your DVR box.
So if you have three extra TVs (family room, bedroom, kid’s room) you will be paying an extra $35.25 a month. Over a two-year contract that will add up to an extra $846 to be able to watch the TV you already pay for.
If you switch over to a Spectrum TV plan you will see the monthly fee drop to $6.99 a month.
Now, this is on top of all the other fees such as the franchise fee, broadcast TV fee, sports fee, and DVR fee. Add it all up and you can easily find that great advertised deal will cost you far more than you thought it would.
