For some time now Spectrum has offered several streaming services including the new $14.99 a month Philo-like streaming service and the Spectrum Choice à la carte service that gives you your locals plus 10 channels you can pick for $25.
One thing Spectrum’s streaming service has lacked was a DVR. Right now, if you want a DVR you need to rent a set-top box from Spectrum. That will be changing next week as Spectrum gets ready to launch a cloud DVR.
According to our sources, Spectrum will launch a cloud DVR on April 23, 2019. This new DVR will cost $4.99 a month and will let you record 50 shows. The downside is after 90 days it will auto delete the recordings from your DVR.
This new DVR option will be available to all Spectrum Stream, Choice, and Essentials customers. Spectrum’s new cloud DVR will only work through the Spectrum app on mobile devices and others including Roku. You will also need a Spectrum Internet subscription to get the Spectrum streaming service.
