Spectrum Is Offering 30 Mbps Internet Service for Just $14.99 If You Qualify

Part of the deal for Charter Communications to buy Time Warner Cable was that they would offer low income Internet plans. This was one of the reasons the FCC agreed to approve the merger. So, if you are on Supplemental Security Income, Community Eligibility Provision, or the National School Lunch Program you can get 30 Mbps Internet for $14.99 a month.

The best part of this is the fact that there are no data caps on these plans, making them a great option for cord cutters who qualify. The modem that comes with does not include WiFi. You can add WiFi for $5 a month or you can buy your own WiFi router and plug it into your modem.

More details on getting the $14.99 deal:

To get the deal, your family needs to participate in the National School Lunch Program or be a senior who is 65 and older receiving Supplemental Security Income program benefits. Any family of four with an income of $44,995 or less will qualify for the National School Lunch Program in New Jersey. (Check your local requirements because they vary depending on what the poverty line is in your state.)

We recommend plans of at least 20 Mbps down, but you can be a cord cutter on a slower plan. When I ditched cable, I only had a 10 Mbps down plan.
