Today it was announced that T-Mobile CEO John Legere will be stepping down as CEO on May 1st 2020. He will be replaced T-Mobile’s current President and COO Mike Sievert, who is also on the Board of Directors.

This all comes as T-Mobile and Sprint fight to get a merger through a lawsuit that is attempting to block the merger. This will likely mean if the merger goes through, Mike Sievert will be the new head of a combined T-Mobile and Sprint company.
T-Mobile last week made big promises about what the company would look like after a merger with Sprint. Mike Sievert was a part of these announcements, making it very likely that he also intends to continue with these plans for home internet, 5G, and cheaper phone plans. For now, only time will tell.
