fuboTV has been hard at work, building their list of affiliate networks and aiming to be the top source of sports content for cord cutters. By partnering with fuboTV, the networks are showing that they recognize the need for streaming services and are making an effort to give fans access to their favorite teams.
Recently, the service has added regional sports networks including NESN, home of the Boston Red Sox and Bruins, and MSG, for the Islanders, Knicks, and Rangers. More live, local feeds from Fox and CBS have also been added recently.
Re-Designed Roku & Apple TV App
If you’re using fuboTV on a Roku & Apple TV devices, you’ll notice a more user-friendly design. Now, you’ll choose from three options for watching content.
- Sports – Find live and upcoming sporting events
- Channels – A full guide with all available channels
- My Videos – A section for the service’s Cloud DVR
The updated menu makes it easy to see what major sporting events will be coming up, so you can watch live or record them for later.
Cloud DVR
No time to watch a game live? Not a problem. fuboTV offers Cloud DVR storage to all users. Previously, users had 10 slots to fill. Each slot could be filled with one individual TV show, movie, or sporting event, and that content could be saved for up to ten days. The new DVR setup looks much different.
The new basic storage option includes 30 hours of storage space and is included with every subscription plan at no additional charge. Content stored on the DVR can be saved indefinitely, as long as the 30 hour limit isn’t reached and as long as you remain a subscriber
Those in need of more space can upgrade to the Advanced DVR plan, with 500 additional hours of content storage. The cost of the extra cloud storage is $9.99/month.
The Cloud DVR allows you to record on any connected device and view the content on any connected device. For example, you can record a football game on the app on a mobile device while you’re on the go and watch later with the Roku app on your TV.
Additional Features
Aside from these big changes, fuboTV has also made some seemingly minor changes that could make a big difference in viewing quality. Here are a few of things you can now do within the fuboTV app. Included in the update is the ability to pause and rewind during a live stream. The quick search feature has also gotten an update, making it easier to search for TV shows and movies by title.
Clearly, the changes are making a difference for fuboTV. The service reached the 100,000 subscriber mark in October, with no signs of slowing down.
