Amazon Fire TV Logo

Amazon has tons of free apps available for Fire TV devices, but with so many to choose from, it can be difficult to find the best apps for news, music, movies, and more. Today, we’re sharing ten of the top free Fire TV apps, in no particular order.

IMDb TV

Amazon’s own free streaming service is consistently adding new content and just announced the new content being added in September. Look for new releases, movie series, and classic favorites, all for free.

Sling TV

While Sling TV is known for being a paid live TV streaming app, the service also has a free section that offers news, event coverage, movies, kids shows, and TV episodes at no cost and with no subscription required.

Crackle

Crackle has a library of blockbuster movies, hit TV shows, and exclusive originals. The lineup is always being updated and is always free. Be sure to check out Crackle’s original content, as well as its collection of classic TV shows and movies.

TuneIn Radio

Listen to over 100,000 radio stations, get the latest breaking news, and check out new podcasts with the free version of the TuneIn Radio app. This is a great option for keeping music playing in the background throughout the day, and for staying up to date on what’s happening with current events and weather around the country.

Crunchyroll

While Crunchyroll recently announced different membership tiers to watch content, the app still has a free tier that offers access to a large library of anime content. On the free tier, new content is added one week after it premieres live.

FilmRise

FilmRise has a massive library of titles available for free, spanning all genres. Better yet, if there’s one specific genre you’re interested in, FilmRise likely has a free app just for that content too. Look for FilmRise apps for True Crime, Horror, Classics, Sci-Fi, History, Family, Westerns, and more.

CW Seed

Stream thousands of hours of TV for free. Look for titles of popular shows including Schitt’s Creek, Whose Line is it Anyway?, Alcatraz, and The Lying Game.

Popcorn Flix

Stream over 1500 titles for free with Popcornflix.  You can browse through categories including romance, drama, documentaries, Spanish language content, horror, comedy, and Bollywood.

Local Now

Local Now brings viewers real time, localized information about weather, current events, lifestyle, sports, business, and traffic. Local Now partners include Reuters, Associated Press, Tribune Content Agency, Yelp, Cheddar and more.

iHeart Radio

If you want to stick to streaming music, iHeart Radio is another free music app to try out. With the app, you can stream thousands of live radio stations, or create your own personalized music stations based on your favorite artists using a library of millions of songs covering genres like Dance, Country, Top 40, Pop, Hip Hop, Rock, R&B, Alternative and more.
