The Fire TV YouTube App Now Directly Opens YouTube

Recently Google pulled their apps from Amazon devices including the Fire TV. This left the Fire TV without an official Fire TV app. Amazon countered by adding a web browser to the Fire TV giving Fire TV owners access to YouTube.com.

The downside is every time you opened the YouTube app it would ask you to launch YouTube in your browser. Now Amazon has updated the YouTube app to remember what browser you selected and always just auto open YouTube.com when you click on the YouTube app.

This update was first spotted by AFTVnews.com and make using YouTube on the Fire TV much more user friendly.

Sadly though there is still no word on any resolution over the Amazon and Google fight. For months now Google has pulled their support for the Fire TV. Well, there are workarounds many have been hoping for an official Fire TV app to return to the Fire TV.

This also means there is still no official support for YouTube TV on the Fire TV. Sadly, for now, it still looks unlikely that this bypass will be resolved anytime soon.
