This morning, ParamountMovies.com announced that their digital movie rental and purchase service will be shutting down, following the announcement from UltraViolet in January.
As of today, you’ll no longer be able to rent, purchase, or play movies through the Paramount Movies website. The website will still be active and sharing information about new releases and movie news.
Those who use Paramount Movies and UltraViolet for their digital movie libraries will still be able to access their content. As the email below notes, you’ll still be able to redeem digital codes, but you’ll now need to access your movies through services like VUDU and FandangoNow. You can do this by linking your accounts as described below.

In light of the upcoming UltraViolet closure, we are making changes to ParamountMovies.com.
Beginning today, while you will still be able to redeem U.S. digital codes included in your DVD, Blu-ray™, and 4K UltraHD™ Paramount products, you will no longer be able to rent, buy, or playback movies through ParamountMovies.com.
To continue to view the movies you have already purchased or redeemed through ParamountMovies.com, you will need to access them through partners like VUDU or FandangoNOW by following these steps:
·STEP 1: Confirm that your U.S. ParamountMovies.com account is linked to your UltraViolet account
·STEP 2: Link your ParamountMovies.com account to your UltraViolet account if it isn’t already
·STEP 3: Link your UltraViolet account to a participating retailer like VUDU or FandangoNOW to ensure your movies will be available for playback through their service(s)
