This week Danny Elfman the long-time composer for the hit TV show The Simpsons, had a shocking revelation. The hit show may be coming to an end according to an interview with the podcast site Joe.ie.

During the podcast, the Simpsons Composer said, “From what I’ve heard, it will be coming to an end,” said Danny Elfman. “I don’t know for a fact, but I’ve heard that it will be in its last year.” He went on to express his surprise at the show’s success. “I’m so flabbergasted and amazed that it has lasted as long as it did … you have to realize, when I scored The Simpsons, I wrote this crazy piece of music, and I expected no one would hear it because I really did not think the show had a chance in hell.”

Update: Al Jean a writer for The Simpsons has come out and said the show is not ending despite what the composer Danny Elfman said.

There have long been rumors of the shows end, but Fox has continued to keep the show alive now for almost 31 years now though Disney is the new owners of the Simpsons. In recent years the show has faced criticism over some of its jokes and the character Apu Nahasapeemapetilon. The show initially began in 1989 and is now in its 31st season. You can stream The Simpsons Disney+ now that The Simpsons is owned by Disney.
