TiVo WiFi 5 USB Adapter

TiVo’s new WiFi 5 USB Adapter is now live and listed on Amazon for $59.99 and was first spotted by ZatzNotFunny.com. Up until now, accessing your TiVo DVR from TVs in another room required Ethernet cables to connect. Now with this new WiFi adapter, cables can be a thing of the past.

The WiFi adapter plugs into your TiVo MINI VOX and connects to your wireless network so you can access your TiVo DVR recordings from any room in the house.

Here’s what the Amazon listing says about the TiVO WiFi 5 USB Adapter:

  • No more stringing Coax or Ethernet Cables to access your TiVo DVR from another room. Wirelessly extend your TiVo experience to any room in your house.
  • Simply plug the TiVo USB Wi-Fi 5 adapter into your TiVo MINI VOX using the included USB extension cable, connect to your wireless network, and you’re ready to go!
  • TiVo’s Wi-Fi 5 adapter is compatible with TiVo Roamio, TiVo BOLT and TiVo EDGE DVRs running TiVo’s New Experience. Check //explore.tivo.com/ to confirm you are using the latest version of TiVo’s user experience on your host DVR.
  • TiVo’s Wi-Fi 5 adapter requires an existing 5 GHz wireless network. Many wireless networking equipment supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, so you’ll need to make sure you connect your MINI VOX to the higher speed 5 GHz network.
  • A USB extension cable is included to allow placement away from other electronics that could cause wireless interference.
  • TiVo’s Wi-Fi 5 adapter has been tested with most popular wireless mesh systems, including Eero, Orbi, Unifi, Google Nest WiFi, and more
  • For best performance, your host DVR should be connected to your home network using a wired Ethernet connection.
  • TiVo USB Wi-Fi 5 adapter, USB extension cable, and Velcro strips included.
