Earlier this week, we shared five great indoor antenna options for cord cutters. Now, we’re back with five of our recommendations for outdoor antennas to potentially give you dozens of HD channels for free.
Note: There is no one antenna that will be the best choice for every cord cutter. Before purchasing an antenna, use a website like AntennaWeb for suggestions about which antennas to use and which channels you’ll receive with the different options available in your area.
The Antennas Direct ClearStream 4MAX 70+ Mile Range Antenna offers both UHF and Hi-VHF frequencies in a compact form. The antenna is made with durable, lightweight materials and has a quick assembly process. The ClearStream MAX series is engineered to respond to a greater range of frequencies, with a wide beam angle to capture signals from widely spaced broadcast towers without the need to rotate the antenna. The antenna includes a 20-inch mast, along with an adjustable mast clamp.
The SkyHDTV antenna has a compact size but boasts a reception range of up to 60 miles, depending on terrain and location. The antenna weights only 3 pounds and has a thickness of just one inch, allowing for many different mounting options around the home. The Sky is multi-directional and does not have to be accurately pointed toward the television towers, meaning that you can receive broadcasts from multiple towers without readjusting the antenna. The Sky comes as a complete package with a 30-foot precision low loss cable and mounting bracket.
Capable of receiving both VHF and UHF signals from up to 70 miles away, the compact Winegard Elite 7550 HDTV antenna allows you to access free over-the-air HDTV programming with long-range reception. It also features dual-band VHF/UHF reception for maximum signal capture, and can connect multiple TVs, with the addition of a splitter which is not included. The Elite 7550’s Flex Mounting System provides angling options for optimal positioning in the attic or outside your home.
The ANTOP 400 BV Flat Panel Antenna is VHF enhanced for enhanced hi-v signal reception. This compact antenna reduces wind load, providing much better signal reliability on windy or rainy day. The reception range is strong enough to work with multiple TVs, using a splitter which is not included. A SMARTPASS amplifier allows switch on and off to get long and short range reception, and a built-in 4G filter blocks 3G and 4G wireless signals to ensure noise-free digital TV reception.
The EXTREMEtenna is an 8-Bay, phased array, multi-directional outdoor antenna that receives high definition and digital signals from a span of 180 degrees. This antenna has a reception range of up to 80 miles. With the antenna, you’ll receive a mast, U-bolts, and an installation guide While the amplifier and coax cable are not included, they can be purchased as part of a bundle deal.
