Cutting the cable connection to coax connector illustrating people cancelling cable TV serviceEvery day someone asks what is the best streaming service or streaming player. The truth is, there is no one device or service that is right for everyone.

Unlike cable TV, which pushes subscribers into one of a few packages, cord cutting gives you the ability to pick the devices and services that are right for you. Yet many new cord cutters struggle to find out what other cord cutters are using.

Today, we break down why there is no one device or service that is right for everyone while helping you pick the device and service that are right for you.

Remember: Always take negative comments about services with a grain of salt. I can find 10 people who will say they love a service and 10 people who hate the same service. Don’t let someone else’s experience dictate what you think about a device or service.

Which streaming player is right for you?

Today the big three streaming players Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV all offer the biggest cord cutting services. In the past, that was not true but now you can access the most popular cord cutting services on Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV.

This frees you up to pick the device that is right for you. Love Apple? Get an Apple TV. Want a Roku or Fire TV? No problem. You can stream the same shows and movies no matter what device you pick.

So, pick the device you want and don’t worry about what other people are using because you will be watching the same shows on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, etc.

We came out with a guide to help you pick the right streaming player for you. You can find that guide HERE.

What streaming service is right for you?

This is a far more popular question. With so many services to pick from many cord cutters hope that someone can just say get YouTube TV or Sling TV. The truth is, there are many great options and the right one depends on what you want.

When asking if YouTube TV or PlayStation Vue is better, for example, what you should ask is does it have the channels I want? We all like different things and all want access to different movies and TV shows.

In all my testing I can honestly say technically no one service is really better than the next. My suggestion would be to get the service that offers the channels and features you want. Maybe you love football or maybe all you want is the Hallmark channel, so pick the right service for you.

We also have a guide that breaks down the channels and features each live TV service offers. You can find that guide HERE.

Remember: No one service is right for everyone. Pick the service that is right for you.
