In this post, we’re sharing ten Roku apps with on-demand movie libraries that you can access for free.

The Roku Channel

The Roku Channel brings you free live and on-demand content. With the app, you’ll find a large library of movies and TV shows to choose from. Keep in mind that through the app, you can also subscribe to premium channels but those will come with a monthly fee.

The CW

You might already know that the CW app offers access to the newest full episodes of CW show, but what you might not know is that the channel also has a selection of movies that are also free to watch.

Pluto TV

In. addition to over 100 channels, Pluto has an impressive on-demand library over 1000 movies and TV episodes. In the Recently Added section, you’ll find newer movies in a variety of genres.

XUMO

XUMO is known for being a free source of live TV with over 160 channels. Among those channels, you’ll find movie channels including Thriller & Horror, American Classics, FilmHub, and Gravitas Movies.

Tubi

Tubi is dedicated to bringing you movies and TV for free. Look for movie categorized by genres from the standard comedy, drama, and kids to more niche genres like Korean dramas and anime.

Sony Crackle

Sony Crackle describes the service as providing content for free “always and forever.” Offering both new and classic movies and TV shows, the app makes it easy to filter the content by genre or by searching for your favorite actors. There’s also a section for Sony Crackle Originals.

Popcornflix

PopcornFlix has a lengthy list of categories for finding a movie for any mood you might be in. Browse through sections like Thriller, Asian Action, Stand Up Comedy, Foreign Films, and Date Night. You’ll also find TV Show and Viral Video sections, all for free.

FilmRise

With a huge collection of on-demand movies, FilmRise is an excellent free option for cord cutters. Look for new releases and must-see movies, along with harder to find titles, independent films, and foreign language films. Search for FilmRise in the Roku Channel Store to find more FilmRise channels in a wide range of categories.

Hoopla

When it comes to free content, we love using the local library. Thanks to Hoopla, many cord cutters can access digital media for free with a library card. Check to see if your local library offers access to this free streaming service then add the app on Roku for easy access to the collection.

Kanopy

Kanopy is another streaming service that partners with libraries across the country to provide free content with a library card. If your local library is partnered with Kanopy, you’ll have access to the collection of content which includes a section just for kids.
