Male hand holding TV remote control.Well it seems that the lawsuit from Sling  TVs Parent company against ZemTV and TV Addons has had some effect.

Yesterday TV Addons website went dark and they also deleted their social media accounts on sites like Facebook. According to who broke this story even their emails no longer work. “In response to our latest email inquiry, we received an , suggesting that the site’s official email addresses are no longer functioning due to the domain troubles.” Cord Cutters News also tried email address we have for TVAddons and all returned error messages.

TV Addons was one of the largest repositories of Kodi add-ons of over 1,500 different add-ons and the home to many popular pirate add-ons. The site had grown massively in recent years and reported that nearly 40 million unique users connected to the site’s servers in March. This growth seems to have made it a target for copyright owners like Dish.

This all comes a week after Dish Network the parent company behind Sling TV is made  the first big move here in the United States to go after Kodi add-ons who allow users to pirate content. They did this by filing a lawsuit against “TV Addons” and the third-party add-on “ZemTV” for content infringement.

“The ZemTV service is retransmitting these channels over the Internet to end-users that download the ZemTV add-on for the Kodi media player, which is available for download at the websites www.tvaddons.ag and www.tvaddons.org,” Dish’s lawyers said in their complaint.

“Website Operators have actual or constructive knowledge of this infringing activity and materially contribute to that activity by providing the forum where the ZemTV add-on can be downloaded and soliciting and accepting donations from ZemTV users,” Dish writes.

For now we will have to wait and see what happens but already many 3rd party Kodi-Addons like Phoenix have shut down. It seems this lawsuit has created fear within the 3rd party Kodi add-on developers.

Now the question is will they keep their doors closed. It is very possible that at any time TV Addons could open up their site again but shutting down their email server and social media makes many wonder if they have any interest in coming back.

Update: TV Addons website is still down but the repository has popped backup online. The question is now is will anyone be updating it?

Update #2: It seems the repository is now also off line.
