Today Twitch an Amazon owned streaming service and Eleven Sports a cable sports network announced a new deal to stream Eleven Sports on Twitch. With this deal you will now be able to watch basketball, baseball, football and hockey on Twitch.
Eleven Sports carries content from Big Sky Conference, Ivy League, Southland Conference, and UMass Minutemen college football game. Eleven Sports also has international sports including Belgian Jupiler Pro League to bring Belgians top soccer action to the United States along with other international sports options.
“This partnership expands our presence in the U.S. and through our collaborative approach with Twitch, we are challenging the status quo on how sports are delivered, discovered, and packaged,” Anthony Bailey, SVP and managing director for Eleven Sports in the U.S., said in a statement. “We are focused on reaching audiences everywhere and ensuring that fans can interact socially around our content.”
“Sports on Twitch is a very nascent, yet well-received category by our community,” added Jane Weedon, Twitch’s director of business development. “ELEVEN SPORTS is tapping into the current appeal by offering up one of the first channels on Twitch dedicated to broadcasting sports content 24/7. Eleven Sports offers a free stream and a premium feed streamed online for Americans to subscribe to. They are also carried on several cable networks including Verizon Fios, Google Fiber, Mediacom, RCN, and streaming services like PlayStation Vue.
