Roku Wireless Speakrs 2020

Roku Wireless Speakrs 2020Update (05/05/20): Representatives from Roku reached out to provide the following comment: “The Roku Smart Soundbar, Roku Wireless Subwoofer and the Roku Wireless Speakers are now available on Amazon.com. The Roku Wireless Speakers are very similar to the Roku TV Wireless Speakers but they do not come bundled with remotes.” Original story follows.

An Amazon listing suggests a reworked version of Roku’s Wireless Speakers could be on their way soon. As reported by Zatz Not Funny, the listing depicts a familiar but slightly tweaked set of bookshelf speakers with a currently unannounced price or release date. The most notable visual change is a smoother top panel, without the distinctive scooped-out section of earlier models.

The product page also suggests this new version lacks the original’s included Voice remote and tabletop remote options. The speakers are still being pitched as a simple way to upgrade the audio on your Roku TV or Smart Soundbar, but dropping the accessories points to a potential cost savings compared to the original’s $199.99 list price (though that version is currently on sale for $149.99). Of note, a quick spec comparison shows similar exterior dimensions, right down to the quarter-inch mounting socket on the rear.

We reached out to Roku, but representatives declined to comment on speculation, and the company’s product pages haven’t been updated just yet. We’ll keep an eye on Roku’s site for any announcements regarding the newest wireless speakers and update if we learn of any significant changes beyond earlier models.
