Today Verizon announced that they are launching 5G home internet that will offer peak speeds of up to 1 Gbps in Chicago. The service will cost $50 for Vierzon customers and $70 a month for non-Verizon customers with autopay and paperless billing. The best part is there will be no data cap on Verizon’s 5G home internet service this is great news for cord cutters in Chicago with a data cap. Verizon says its 5G home internet service will launch on October 24th, 2019 in Chicago.
“Now, in addition to Verizon’s speedy 5G Ultra Wideband mobility service, Chicago customers can access 5G Home Internet, the next generation of lightning fast home broadband internet service,” said Brian Higgins, vice president, device and consumer product marketing, Verizon. “With flexibility, freedom and choice that enables a whole new world of experiences, 5G Home Internet is truly the future of home connectivity.”
Verizon also announced that their 5G network will come with a Wi-Fi 6 router with Amazon Alexa built-in. Not only with this new router give you Wifi but you will also be able to ask it questions and control your Wi-Fi network with it. Verizon will also give 5G home internet customers one month of YouTube TV service.
Verizon already offers 5G home internet in Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento. Hopefully, Verizon will continue to roll out 5G home internet to more markets soon. Other companies plan to soon offer 5G home internet including T-Mobile and Spectrum to name a few.
