Today Verizon announced that their 5G home internet service is now live in Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento. The cost will be $50 a month for Verizon Wireless customers and $70 for non-Verizon Wireless customers. The best part is that there is no data cap for Verizon’s 5G home internet service.

“We were able to make Sacramento one of our first 5G cities because Mayor Darrell Steinberg and city leaders embraced innovation and developed a strategic vision for how 5G could be a platform for the larger Sacramento technology ecosystem,” said Jonathan LeCompte, Pacific Market president for Verizon. “We believe this vision will pay off big for the city, attracting new investment, businesses and next generation services for residents.”

“This is a significant day in Sacramento,” said Mayor Steinberg. “When cities like ours partner with innovative businesses, investment follows. Not only has Verizon invested heavily to bring the latest network technology to our city, but they are partnering with us to focus investments on equity and economic opportunity for all neighborhoods.”

Here is what comes with the service:

  • Free white glove installation and equipment. You get professional installation and set-up of all Wi-Fi devices, as well as a free router and router upgrades as they become available in 2019.
  • 5G Mobile devices. You get the ability to be first in purchasing new 5G mobile devices as soon as they hit the market in your area.
  • 5G Dedicated service. You get dedicated 5G expert representatives providing world-class support.

Verizon says they plan to continue to roll out 5G to new markets. Verizon is not alone in their efforts as AT&T, T-Mobile, Charter, Google, Dish, and more are all planning to launch their own 5G home internet services.
