VUit has announced it will be streaming the Iditarod Sled Dog race, and the only place to stream the event for free outside of Alaska. The race begins March 7th in Willow Alaska where the teams will race to the historic gold-rush town of Iditarod and back, with the winner expected to cross the finish line on March 15th. The race is being produced by Gray Television-owned KTUU in Anchorage, Alaska, in collaboration with Iditarod.com.
Today, VUit is launching a special Iditarod channel dedicated to the race with highlights from previous years and more leading up to the 2021 kick-off.
“This year’s Iditarod is a bit different due to the pandemic,” said Nancy Johnson, General Manager of KTUU, adding “but there are always incredible stories to tell of the mushers and canine athletes and the challenges of the trail through Alaska’s rugged wilderness. We’re excited to share all of our coverage on VUit!”
