This week, we learned a whole lot more about ViacomCBS’ upcoming Paramount+ streaming service. AT&T also announced a new deal for what they’re calling “New DirecTV,” and we have a ton of release dates for upcoming Disney+ shows and movies. In other words: a very busy week indeed.

Paramount+ Will Cost at $4.99 With Ads, $9.99 Without Ads

We know a whole lot more about Paramount+, the revamped streaming effort from ViacomCBS. Thanks to a lengthy online event, we’ve learned about the service’s pricing, including an ad-supported option that’s actually cheaper than the CBS All Access pricing tier it replaces. However, there is a small catch with that $4.99 option.

Paramount+ Will Have 30,000+ Episodes at Launch, 36 Original Series This Year

We also learned about the lineup Paramount+ expects to launch with, as well as its plans for content throughout its first year. We can expect thousands of episodes and movies, as well as the continuation of several CBS All Access shows.

IMDb TV is Now Available on Chromecast with Google TV

Free streaming service IMDb TV is now available on the latest Chromecast device, aka: the Chromecast with Google TV. We’re also expecting more Android TV devices to get the IMDb TV app in the near future.

Disney+ Series Premiere Dates for ‘Loki,’ ‘Monsters at Work,’ ‘The Mighty Ducks’ & More

Disney shared a whole slate of release dates spanning spring into early summer. We now know when Marvel shows like Loki and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are set to premiere this year.

YouTube Will Introduce Supervised Accounts with Parental Controls for Teens and Tweens

YouTube is testing out new parental control features that will give teens and tweens more freedom than the current YouTube Kids account — all while still offering parents control over content types. It’s still in testing for now, but it could officially arrive on the service in the future.

AT&T and TPG to Launch ‘New DIRECTV’ Including DIRECTV, AT&T TV & U-verse

What started as a rumor earlier in the week ended up as a confirmed deal: AT&T and TPG are joining forces for a new pay TV venture. It’s called New DIRECTV and it includes several of AT&T’s TV businesses.
